In addition, readers are interested in articles that help them solve their problems. After reading the article, they will want to know who wrote it. And if you have an attractive profile, readers may become your fans.

You don't need an introductory article, but a profile is important for SEO and attracting fans, so make sure you have a well-developed profile.

Decide on the direction and theme of your blog

The first thing to decide when starting a blog is the direction and theme of the blog.

A blog that deals with various topics is called a "miscellaneous blog." In contrast, a blog specializing in a single topic is called a "specialized blog."

Characteristics of Miscellaneous Blogs
  • Because miscellaneous blogs can be written on various topics, there is little need for blog posts.
  • They are also suitable for modern affiliate marketing because they can incorporate current trends.
  • On the other hand, the disadvantages are that it is difficult to differentiate from other blogs. It is challenging to increase search traffic, and the profitability is low.
Characteristics of Specialized Blogs
  • Google considers specialized blogs highly specialized because they focus on a single topic.
  • This makes it easier to increase search traffic and differentiate yourself from other blogs.
  • Specialized blogs tend to be more profitable than blogs with miscellaneous information.
  • However, the disadvantages are that there is a limit to the number of articles that can be written and that specialized knowledge is required.

Whether you choose a specialized blog or a blog about miscellaneous topics, choose a topic that interests you.

Also, you may start with one theme but shift to a miscellaneous blog midway through because you have more topics you want to write about. 

Conversely, you may start with multiple themes and specialize in the most popular theme. You do not necessarily have to decide between a specialized blog and a miscellaneous blog from the beginning.

The theme may change throughout the operation, so there is no problem with using this as a theme to start with.

Six attitudes to keep in mind for the first article

As I mentioned initially, the "first article" is not very important.

Let's write it with the idea of "writing it all out.

Here I will explain the six attitudes regarding the "first article.

1. Don't worry about perfection

For the first post on your blog, you do not need to worry about completeness.

As mentioned earlier, you cannot expect access to your first post, and you can rewrite it as many times as you like later.

Even experienced bloggers find it difficult to write a highly finished article in one shot. Often, they end writing, publish it, and then re-read and rewrite it.

And it is almost impossible for a novice blogger to release a highly finished article when they have just started blogging.

It is no problem if your first article is only 30-40% as good as other blogs.

It doesn't matter if it is your best effort at the time.

When you first start blogging, concentrate on writing posts rather than design. No matter how elaborate your design is, it will not increase your traffic even a single bit.

It is OK to design your blog as long as you pay attention to the bare minimum, such as "easy to read" and "not clashing with the blog's direction.

4. Don't worry too much about the quality of the writing
