How to Increase Blog Traffic for free

How to Increase Blog Traffic for free
In this article, I will explain in simple terms the measures that can be taken to increase traffic."Have you ever experienced that it is difficult to get people to read your articles even though you have worked hard to write them?"
This article is for you if you
  • I want to know how to get more traffic to my blog.
  • I want to know how to write articles that will increase access.
  • I want to know how to increase access other than writing articles.

If you're having trouble getting traffic to your blog, this is a must-see! Perhaps with a bit of improvement, you may be able to gain access to the site.

I would like to share my 16 points for free access to the site in this issue.

16 points to increase traffic

I'll give you some checkpoints to increase your traffic!

Some of these things have to be done steadily, so let's persevere!

1. Aim for 30 articles first(Most important)

It is not easy to get access when you just started blogging, but let's start by writing 30 articles.

Writing 30 articles does not necessarily mean that you will get more access.

Still, by the time you finish writing, the articles you wrote earlier will be more highly rated by Google and more likely to attract searchers.

As your access increases, you'll be able to maintain your motivation, so set your sights high for 50, 80, or 100 articles!

"I don't know if you get access until you write articles, but some people can get access to a few dozen articles!"

2. Write articles regularly and continuously

An essential part of writing a sufficient amount of articles is the habit of writing articles. At what pace are you currently writing articles?

If you have your own pace, such as "one every two weeks" or "one every week," maintain it while writing articles.

Suppose you write articles at different paces and write or not write articles at all. In that case, it will be challenging to get into the habit of writing articles and increase the number of articles on your blog.

"In my case, I started out writing about one article a week and then increased the number of articles as I got used to it!"

Do I need to update every day?
You may see on social networking sites or blogs that "daily updates are necessary." Still, I can tell you in conclusion that it is not necessary. If you set a goal of updating every day, you will tend to end up with articles with no substance and no use to anyone. I recommend that you take the time to write an article that will be of interest to your readers, even in the context of attracting traffic.

3. Make the content original

Check if you have written an article with originality that cannot be found on other sites.

The easiest way to write an original article is to write about your own experiences and experiences.

For example, I use the following method to write about a portable gas stove for barbecue.

When introducing a portable gas stove
  • It is easy to carry and lightweight, so it was easy even with children in tow.
  • It didn't go out even on a slightly windy day.

In this way, you write specifically about your experiences and experiences, not the specs of the gas stove.

Check that you can include real experiences and experiences that only you can write about.

"Experience-based information is entirely original, and it's the most value a personal blog can offer its readers!"

4. Make sure the content matches the search intent

Make sure that the "search intent (reason for searching)" of the search keyword matches the "article content. If they are not aligned with the search intent, your site will not rank high in the search results.

The following is how to check search intent
  • How to find search intent.
  • Search for words that will address the article you are trying to write.
  • Look at the top-ranking articles for that measure word.

See if there is any content you should include in your article

Since Google should consider the sites that are ranked higher to be sites that currently match the search intent, you can refer to the content of their articles to see if your articles are not out of line with the search intent.

Refer to the top-ranked articles and fill in the missing content in your articles.

5. Keep up-to-date with the latest information

Check if your articles are outdated and information needs to be updated.

If the information on your blog is out of date, it is likely to lose user trust, resulting in a decrease in traffic.

Regularly checking for changes in the data you have posted, broken links, etc., will make your articles more reliable.

Recommended Tools
If you run your blog on WordPress, you can check for broken links with [Broken Link Checker] plugin. I highly recommend this plugin if you often post links to external sites.

6. Be aware of the rhythm of your writing

Be mindful of the tempo of your sentences.

When writing articles, be aware of the rhythm of your writing.

When I write articles, I am conscious of the following points.
  • Points to improve the rhythm of writing
  • Think about the structure of the article to make the story flow smoothly.
  • No complicated words for a quick read
  • correct typos and omissions immediately

I suggest you read it aloud so you can see how good or bad your rhythm is!

Please refer to the following article for a detailed explanation of the writing process.

7. Use target-oriented language

Use language that matches your target audience.

Instead of writing every blog with the exact wording, try to use words that match the target audience as much as possible.

A "30-something male" and a "10-something female" will perceive the language differently, even when using the same sentence.

What kind of readers does this blog have?

Creating memorable sentences will attract more readers to your blog if you can.

8. Include images in the article

When there are images in an article, people are less likely to leave halfway through because they are less bored reading than only text.

In addition, by including images that relate to the article, readers will understand the text more quickly visually, and the article will be easier to read.

Make sure you have a good balance of images in the middle of your article.

"If you can't write an article because you are too worried about choosing the right images, it will be a real downfall, so don't take your time and go with your gut."

Suppose there is a related article that is useful or interesting to the user visiting the blog. In that case, they will want to read it!

For example, if you have a headline that says "SEO is important to attract traffic," it would be a good idea to put up links to related articles to direct people to them, as shown below.

It will also increase the number of page views of other articles. If you have a related article that will benefit your readers, link to it.

"I've linked a couple of related articles in this post, so take a look!"

10. Make the title clickable

To increase traffic to your blog, make sure your title is clickable!
Titles appear not only in search results but also in numerous other places.
Where Titles Appear
  • Search Results
  • Display of related posts in the blog
  • Blog sidebar
  • When shared on social networking sites
  • When introduced on other sites

As you can see, there are many opportunities to get clicked on, so creating an impactful article title can increase traffic.

It is not easy to develop a good title by yourself, so learn the article title pattern and create your own.

Please refer to the following article for a summary of article title templates!

11. Change the eye-catching image

By "eye-catching image," I mean an image that catches the eye and is visually appealing. It is displayed on the top, in the sidebar, in related posts, and when shared on social networking sites.

I recommend changing the eye-catching image as one of the easy measures to increase click-through rates.

Visually appealing photos and illustrations are more impressive than text and make a difference in click-through rates.

12. Check the site loading speed

Site loading speed is also essential to attract traffic.

If the site is heavy and people are trying to click on the title to see your blog, but it does not appear after about 3 seconds, they will leave immediately.

If you find your blog is slow, measure your site's loading speed.

You can easily measure it using a tool provided by Google called PageSpeed Insights. It can even suggest images that should be compressed, so you can efficiently find areas for improvement!

13. Reduce the number of images & adjust image size

Generally, the more images there are and the larger the image size, the longer it takes to display the image, so adjust the image size to be appropriate.

In the case of WordPress, each theme has a specific size of images to be displayed. You can often find the recommended image size in the manual of the article, so check it once.

Adjusting the image size can be quickly done with "Paint" in Windows. There are also free software and website services that do image compression and reduction for you, so if you're curious, search!

"Ensure you're not putting too many images in your articles, or the image size is too large, to improve display speed!"

14. Place social buttons on your blog

Place social buttons on your website so that people can share and bookmark your blog posts.

In the case of WordPress, you can easily display share buttons by having the functionality in the standard theme or by using a plugin!

15. Share articles on social networking services

Share articles on Twitter and other social networking sites

Suppose you are on Twitter or Facebook yourself. In that case, you can spread your articles to your followers, which is an effective way to increase traffic.

It is challenging to gather access from the Twitter following when there are not many followers. Still, as your following grows to several thousand, you will start to receive more and more traffic from Twitter.

Consider using Twitter as a means of gathering access.

16. SEO optimization

Last but not least, SEO is essential in attracting traffic.

What is SEO?
SEO directly translates to Search Engine Optimization, making your site more easily found than other sites when searched on the Internet.

By applying SEO, users who search for your blog on Google will find and access your blog.
